In the 1980s, Fotios Economou, a recent immigrant to the United States, and his wife Maria, embarked on their culinary journey, opening a local burger joint, but envisioning a grander endeavor that would capture their Greek heritage.
Greek Chicken was born in 1987 on Main St. in El Cajon, and while not all recipes are family secrets, they embody the essence of Greek cuisine, refined through the Economou’s expertise and passion for experimentation.
Today, Gregory Economou is running the family business with his father, and the menu still reflects the original commitment to culinary excellence, blending traditional Greek recipes with modern twists.
Greek Chicken prioritizes quality service, cleanliness, and serving the best possible fresh, homemade food. Beyond serving delicious meals, Greek Chicken takes pride in supporting the community through donations to local schools and charitable initiatives. Fotios, Gregory and their family are East County locals and enjoy giving back to the community that helped to launch their family restaurant. They also recently opened their fourth restaurant in Las Vegas.
